(September 12, 1933, Kyiv — July 9, 2010, Lviv)
In 1950 he enrolled at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Lviv University, specializing in mechanics, graduating with distinction in 1956. In 1966, he defended his doctoral dissertation in the theory of elasticity. He worked at Lviv University for over 50 years — at the Departments of Mathematical Analysis, Theory of Functions and Functional Analysis, and Mathematical Modeling. He authored around 150 scientific papers on the theory of plates and shells, contact problems, and optimal structural design.
A gifted teacher and active organizer of mathematical olympiads. Son of mathematician Hlib Kostiantynovych Khliebnikov.
