(November 11, 1867 Bochnia – March 24, 1908, Zakopane)

He studied mathematics, physics and astronomy at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Jagiellonian University, where he obtained his doctorate in 1891. He subsequently studied at the universities of Göttingen and Berlin under F. Klein and H. A. Schwarz.
From 1898 he was professor and head of the Department of Mathematics at the Polytechnic School in Lviv. He was elected dean of the engineering department four times, and rector of the Polytechnic School in the academic year 1903/04.
His research focused on the theory of differential equations and the theory of Fuchs functions. He published around 30 papers, lecture courses and textbooks, including the two-volume "Podręcznik równań różniczkowych" (Lviv, 1907). He died on 24 March 1908 in Zakopane.
