Professor at Lviv Polytechnic.His father, Maryan, was a renowned zoologist, palaeontologist and geologist. After completing the IV Gymnasium in Lviv, A. Łomnicki studied at the Faculty of Philosophy of Lviv University, and in 1906/07 at Göttingen.
A. Łomnicki was a professor of mathematics at the VII Gymnasium in Lviv, and later became a professor at Lviv Polytechnic.
A. Łomnicki published more than 20 textbooks and books and 30 scientific papers on mathematical analysis, probability theory, mathematical cartography, mathematical statistics and mathematics didactics.
After the Germans entered Lviv, A. Łomnicki, together with a large group of professors, was arrested on July 3, 1941 and shot the following day on the Wuleckie Hills in Lviv.
