(September 26, 1950, Klyusivka, Poltava Obl. – September 25, 2020, Chernivtsi)

Professor, Head of the Department of Mathematical Analysis of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. Full member of the Shevchenko Scientific Society, Head of the Mathematical Commission of the Shevchenko Scientific Society in 2013–2016.
In 1967–1972, he studied at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Chernivtsi and in 1974–1978, was a postgraduate student at the Department of Function Theory and Functional Analysis of Moscow University. Defended his candidate-degree thesis in 1985 at the Institute of Mathematics in Kyiv (scientific supervisor – A.M. Plichko) and his doctoral thesis in 2000 at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
From 1972 he worked at the Department of Mathematical Analysis of Chernivtsi University, where he created a powerful scientific school in the theory of functions and functional analysis.
Scientific interests: theory of functions, functional analysis and history of mathematics.
