Bohachevskyi Yulian

(April 15, 1897, Levtsi, Dolyna district, now Ivano-Frankivsk Obl. – January 2, 1970, Lviv)
Mathematician, Doctor of Philosophy, member of the Shevchenko Scientific Society.
Studied at the Ukrainian (secret) University in Lviv (1921-1923). He continued his studies at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University in Graz, where in 1927 he received a doctorate in philosophy (supervisor Hans Benndorf).
Worked in secondary schools and gymnasiums in Przemysl, Yaroslav, Kamianka Strumylova, Rava-Ruska, Yavoriv, Stryi, and Rohatyn. From 1940 until his retirement, he taught at the Lviv (later Drohobych) Pedagogical Institute, and from 1945 at Lviv University. He spoke many classical and European languages.
Scientific interests: algebra, number theory, geometry. Author of scientific and methodological works.
