Syroyid Ihor-Petro

(October 17, 1942, Lviv – August 27, 2003, Chernivtsi)
He studied at the Lviv Electromechanical Technical School, then in the evening division of the Lviv Polytechnic Institute (majoring in Theoretical Radio Engineering), and from 1964, at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Ivan Franko State University of Lviv. After graduating from the university, he pursued postgraduate studies at the Department of Mathematical Analysis. He defended his Candidate of Sciences (PhD) dissertation in 1984 under the supervision of Professor V. I. Lyantse.
He worked at the Lviv Branch of Mathematical Physics of the Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (later the Institute for Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine).
Scientific interests: non-self-adjoint inverse problems of spectral scattering theory.
